Habitat for Humanity International’s Europe, Africa and Middle East (EMEA) regional headquarters is based in Bratislava, Slovakia, and registered as a Slovakian NGO. As regional office, the Slovak organization has the mandate to engage in EU advocacy, seeks EU funding (holding an ECHO FPA) and coordinates other European offices within the Habitat international organisation. It also has project and advocacy partnerships in Slovakia and supports operations in the EMEA area.
In Africa, Europe, Middle East and Central Asia, Habitat works in 33 countries, building and repairing homes, offering microcredit home-improvement loan, improving water and sanitation, working on disaster response and prevention and advocating for affordable housing, all with families in need. In this region Habitat has served more than 70,000 families to date together with volunteers and homeowners.
